Our Mission BitterRoot Natural Medicine was founded in 1990 to serve especially the communities of Western Montana and Eastern Idaho as a reliable resource for information and support to create healthy life changes. A center for holistic healing, we provide primary care natural medicine, and link patients as needed to a complete spectrum of health care options. Our Goals We will facilitate your health care, by providing appropriate naturopathic medical treatments, or by referring you to another health care provider whenever such a referral is in your best interests. We will give you full and uninterrupted attention during your visits; Dr. Dunne makes every effort to manage her schedule such that you are not waiting more than 5 minutes past your scheduled appointment time. If we are unable to meet your urgent appointment needs within our regular schedule we will attempt to flex with an outside of regular hours visit. Home visits are also occasional options as needed. You will have telephone and email access to Dr. Dunne for urgent needs outside of regular office hours. Dr. Dunne sees patients of all ages, both genders and every condition. Along with careful and compassionate listening, the relationship of food and nutrition to health concerns are a primary tool for restoring well-being. Addressing obesity with effective fat loss and life-long habit changes is a particular specialty. Herbal medicine and homeopathic remedies are incorporated into most treatments plans. Dr. Dunne has developed special expertise in all phases of women’s health, including menstrual irregularities, fertility issues, polycystic ovary syndrome and menopause. She has long experience with infants and children and especially enjoys supporting new parents to become skillful and confident guardians of their children’s health. At BitterRoot Natural Medicine patients receive focused attention to all of their concerns. Diagnosis is arrived at first through Dr. Dunne’s careful listening to your experience and your knowledge of what is happening in your body and in your life. Understanding your situation is expanded by the use of appropriate and familiar medical examinations, such as blood pressure monitoring, Pap smears and breast exams. Dr. Dunne will look down your throat and in your ears when that makes sense! She will use information found through blood, urine and saliva testing, through diagnostic imaging such as xray and ultra sound, as well as the expertise of additional medical specialists as needed. Dr. Dunne has practiced as a health care provider in Missoula for over 25 years and has excellent collegial relationships with all manner of other care providers, from practitioners of yoga and body work, to traditional Asian and Native American medicine, to conventional medical doctors in every specialty.
